Lynn Keegan, RN, PhD, AHN-BC, FAAN is one of the founders of the holistic health focus in nursing and a well known leader in holistic nursing. She currently works as Director of Holistic Nursing Consultants in Port Angeles, WA. She has authored or co-authored 18 books and scores of professional journal publications and chapters in text books. Her books include six editions of the co-authored, three time AJN award winning Book of the Year text book, Holistic Nursing: A Handbook for Practice, 6th ed (2013), Healing Nutrition, 2nd ed., Healing with Complementary and Alternative Therapies, Healing Waters: The Miraculous Health Benefits of Earth's Most Essential Resource, Profiles of Nurse Healers and The Nurse as Healer among others. She served as editor for a 15 book series at Delmar Publishing in the 1990's. In addition she has delivered scores of presentations and keynote addresses in numerous countries throughout the world.
Dr. Keegan was elected as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and is board certified as Advanced Holistic Nurse by the American Holistic Nurses Association. She is past president of the American Holistic Nurses' Association and is on the board of many organizations and journals. She has been on the faculty of several prominent universities teaching in associate degree programs through coordinating graduate nursing programs. In 1991 she received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from Cornell University – New York Hospital School of Nursing and she is a five-time recipient of the prestigious American Journal of Nursing Book of the Year Award.
Carole Ann Drick, RN, PhD, AHN-BC has a passion for quality of life which began as an early advocate for natural childbirth and now as a focus on dignity, goodness, compassion, peace and release at end of life. The underlying thread is her work in shifting consciousness. As one of the early organizers and supporters of the holistic health focus in nursing, she is a known leader in holistic nursing. She is presently the Director of Conscious Awareness, in Austintown, OH and the co-director of Golden Room Advocates. Carole Ann has authored or co-authored four books and numerous professional publications. Three of her books focus on end of life and shifting the consciousness of both health care professionals and the lay public along with the next level of hospice care. Along with an end of life pocket guide, she has four meditation CDs. As an author, consultant, educator and metaphysician, her national and international presentations have been numerous.
Dr. Drick is board certified as an Advanced Holistic Nurse by the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation as well as having advanced training in a wide range of healing modalities. She presently serves as President of the American Holistic Nurses Association. She has been on the graduate faculty of two large universities plus developed and implemented a new baccalaureate nursing program based on holistic principles and adult teaching learning strategies that received full initial NLN accreditation. She was on the American Holistic Nurses Association's referred Journal board for many years. She is a two time recipient of the prestigious American Journal of Nursing Book of the Year Award.
